From the recording Slipping Away
This was a song that didn’t know what it wanted to be when it grew up. I originally wrote it as a blues song, but that didn’t seem to fit. Then it was transformed into somewhat of a gospel song and then rock. It wasn’t until I was kicking it around with my pal Sally Sisto that it revealed that it wanted to be a waltz. Wow, who knew?
Musicians on this cut included:
Sally Sisto – Guitar, Background Harmonies
Bob Cooper – Mandolin
Rich Cooper – Bass
Jaclie Damsky - Violin
Trish English – Background Vocals
Carolyn Waters – Backgroung Vocals

Lyrics
I had a feeling,
A wonderful feeling
A feeling to last my whole life through
Then in a sudden crash
All of my dreams dashed
All by the man I thought I knew!
And it’s…
Slipping away,
Slipping away,
Slipping away, on me
Planning what lied ahead
Can’t change him they all said
Don’t think that you’ll make him all brand new
Ain’t asking that much
Just a little retouch
All that he needs to be true
But it’s …
Slipping away,
Slipping away,
Slipping away, on me
They say….
He’s a good man stay with him at home
Doesn’t matter how far apart you’ve grown
If all your trust is blown
In your life (in your life) do you wanna be (do you wanna be) alone
Still it’s…
Chorus
